Policies and Procedures

Introduction

Lacombe Minor Hockey is a volunteer-based organization that exists to provide kids aged 5-18 an opportunity to play organized hockey. There are numerous rules and regulations that govern how our hockey program is delivered.  It is our policy to be open with our membership, and our website allows us to provide you with written documentation on these rules and regulations.

There is some excellent information provided below that documents our Game & Conduct Management Plan, our Association Handbook, our Tryout/Evaluation Process and Coach Certifications. To simplify things, these documents outline acceptable behaviour and how we deal with unacceptable behaviour (Game & Conduct), the general policies that our board uses to operate this Association (LMHA Handbook), our Ice Return Policy, our Registration Refund Policy, information about how our tryout process works(Evaluation Process Document) and what type of certifications our coaches need to be on the bench (Coach Certification Document). Another important document that should be reviewed is our Bylaw document. This document outlines membership information, along with the the duties of Committee Members and the purpose and empowerment of our board. You can access the bylaws from the sub-menu under "LMHA Info." on the home page of the website. Other important information such as our import policy and general hockey information can be found on our website.

All of this information forms the binding principles, rules and regulations that Lacombe Minor Hockey uses to operate organized hockey in Lacombe. It is definitely worth your while to review all this information, as it gives you a clear indication on how things work within the organization.

Game & Conduct Management Plan
Lacombe Minor Hockey has put together a document outlining a Game &Conduct Management Plan. The information contained in this plan outlines how we deal with unacceptable behaviour in our Association. The name of our program is very simple: "Respect & Accountability", and these two words clearly indicate the principles of the program. Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated, and you will be held accountable for your actions. It is mandatory that everyone takes the time to read through this document. Team coaches and managers will be responsible for ensuring the information is available to all of our members. To read through our "R & A" document, please click HERE.

Lacombe Minor Hockey: Evaluation Process Information
The evaluation process documentation can be downloaded by clicking HERE.This document details all facets of the evaluation process, and it is avery good idea to take a read through this document in advance of thisyear's tryouts. Our evaluation process is a very solid one, but we are always looking to "tweak" things as we move forward to make the process even stronger.  There is also a condensed version of this document, and it can downloaded by clicking HERE.

Coaching Certification Information
The Hockey Alberta Coach Certification Guidelines can be found by clicking here.  All teams must have the required certifications by December 31 of the current hockey season. This certification is required for all hockey activities, including provincial play, so be sure that allcertifications are covered as it will be double-checked prior to orduring provincials. Teams without proper certification will not be allowed to participate in provincials.
